This week I had time off of work, and the mental means to finally pick up a book that I’ve been meaning to read for ages. I found it at one of my local secondhand bookshops, and I’ll be honest, I mostly picked it up for the cover, but hey, the synopsis was intriguing too so I figured I’d give it a shot.

This is my first time reading anything by Kate Morton, but after this, I daresay it won’t be my last. I had so much fun guessing at the secrets and mysteries going on within this family as the book jumped between three different generations of women, and even moved from England to Australia, and back again.

Sorry this isn’t getting one of my proper romance reviews, because while there is a smattering of romance within these pages, it isn’t really the main focus of the story. This is a tale mostly of family, of coming home, and trying to figure out who you are and where you belong. I’d say it’s even a good take on the love a found family can provide, though it really doesn’t focus on that as much as the mystery at hand.

Speaking of the mystery, I thought it was well done. One of my original theories was actually correct, though slightly altered, but even then, Morton had me double guessing myself a time or two as the story progressed!

Enterprise’s intro set to the Perfect Strangerstheme.

It’s been years since I last watched this video and it still makes me lol…

I’ve just noticed something I didn’t before, either because this is my first time playing with the mantis blades or because it’s a new patch. But when you have a long sleeve overcoat (and, I assume, a shirt) and mantis blades, the sleeves roll themselves up. Realistically, this makes sense, because sleeves would obviously prevent the blades from coming out. And I’m not complaining. It’s actually a very nice touch. I’m just surprised.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is this a new thing or has this always been a thing in game?
