I figured I might as well do something for Johnny 13 and Kitty. I worked out designs that had a lot more rockabilly influence. Because they still feel really connected to who they used to be, they are able to look like fairly normal humans when they put effort into it… but when their ghost forms show, they sort of lose their saturation and fade into shades of blue. This also extends to Johnny’s Shadow; when hiding, it looks darker, but when they shift, Shadow inverts to a brighter blue. Also, that jacket is Johnny’s. I want there to be a running joke where, if anybody sees him wearing his own jacket, they ask “So… did you and Kitty have a fight?” because she won’t wear it when she’s mad at him~
I wasn’t going to bother making a re-design for Freakshow, because I never really gave a heck about him…he just wasn’t super interesting to me. Which was a shame, because I love creepy circus stuff. Well, the whole point of re-designs is to mess with something until you are happy with it, so behold! Since I’m already using a lot of red with some other characters, I decided I should use something else for him… which was tricky, because purple would making him the Joker, and yellow would make him Bill Cipher… finally, I decided on PINK! I think it works for making him a little more like a clown. I also added some plague doctor in there, and changed the wings on his staff a little
Now I’m stuck thinking about Danny Phantom stuff in my head, so hey- might as well draw something about it. I figured I’d do a re-design for Dani; because she’s literally supposed to be a Danny clone, I gave her his head-shape. It also SUPER BOTHERED ME that her clothes literally just make the pattern of red-blue-red-blue (for her hat/shirt/pants/shoes). Got rid of the hat, we don’t need it. Kept her blue hoodie because it looks good on her, but instead of the red, she has more of a maroon/magenta color for the pants, and pink shoes (again, she’s the clone of Danny, so her colors should match him… but not totally copy him, since she’s also a different person. so, a darker blue than he has for his pants, and instead of red, the maroon/magenta/pink). For her Phantom outfit, I understood why the mis-matched look was used, but it seemed odd that she’d have that. I also wanted to give her something that showed she is indeed a little kid (I think she’s supposed to be about 11 or 12… though technically, she’s only been “alive” for a year or so). So, same basic outfit as Danny, but she’s got short sleeves and shorts (cute and kinda sporty). Also, I hereby decale that even though her full name is Danielle, she hecking goes by Elli or Ella, because the Dani/Danny thing is CONFUSING
