#patsos gorge

Located 7km from Spili in the Amari province, the Patsos gorge is a beautifully lush and verdant place, a wildlife haven and natural spring. It is also home to the church of St. Anthony, built in a cave into the cliff face on a site which was once a Minoan temple. The church is a very popular pilgrimage site for Greeks, with many arriving on coaches to trek down to the church to light a candle and say prayers for loved ones.
