First camping trip of the year

Having the van with the crate for Mango is a game changer. She’s so much more chilled and happy in there, even with the door open when the site was quiet in the morning she preferred to chill in there

The face of a criminal whose only regret is getting caught.

My neighbour just knocked on my door to let me know she’d spotted Rhu in our back neighbours garden . He’d managed to scrape just enough dirt away to wiggle under the back fence. No idea how long that’s been going on, he’s never been away long enough for me to miss him, but they don’t always close their back gate .

Garden privileges revoked young man!

Mango and Rhu enjoyed camp though. Rhu was really good hanging out with people and dogs and ponies. Mango chilled in the crate while I was riding, I brought her a new bed and I think it was much appreciated.

All the peopl-ing wears them out though. Both snoring away now

After all day at the horse show we’re chilling catching up on Badminton. Every time Rhu hears a dog bark his tail wags ❤

Ahhhhhh they’re perfect! They have matching play styles and take breaks and I love them both.

Literally grinning from ear to ear

One whole year of Rhu!

This year Rhu has:

• Hiked up mountains, through farmland, along rivers and across streams
• Camped in the wilds of Scotland
• Taken a boat to the Outer Hebrides
• Been my sidekick at many horse events, including a visit to Blair
• Made friends with terriers and little fluffs (but NOT big bouncy labradoodles)
• Taught me to trust him off lead. Sometimes.
• Had a go at agility, but decided it wasn’t for him
• Learnt lots of tricks
• Started on scentwork
• Learned that the world doesn’t end when you stay home alone
• Spent 2 months being a Very Good Boy while his human was broken
• Played A LOT of tug and squeaked A LOT of toys
• Eaten many many treats and countless tubes of liver paste
• Given plentiful cuddles

There have been spats. He and Mango rarely play like they did when he first came home, they mostly ignore each other. But he slots into our weird little life perfectly.

Today he’s coming to another pony competition, and this week we’re going to visit the rescue he came from and drop off some exciting human and dog treats for everyone there.

Calm evening wander

Very good dog at the show jumping today. Snoozed away most of the day in his crate, and perfect behaviour when allowed out to socialise.

I have treats inmy pocket to reward alternative behaviours to staring out if the window. And it *is* working, except:
