Taking place during Mockingjay, we see a closer look at Katniss and Finnick’s rfriendship. Finnick was already my favorite character before reading this but this fic made me literally yearn for him. I cannot recommend this enough.

OMG.Peeta opened a bakery in my neighborhood! I’ve been driving by The Bearded Baker for a year or so smiling to myself and thinking that. Didn’t know anything about it, just googled it, and wow!
something i will never understand is the scene where peeta hides among the rocks and mud. i will never understand it because it the books, it’s pretty much implied that he was able to just hide really well, probably thinking quickly. in the movie, not only do we get that lovecraftian nightmare of a rock-boy, he blendedthat crap. i’m talking highlights and shadows and all that and i hate it.
The special effects/makeup people on the first Hunger Games movie crew probably thought Peeta in the mud would look too… muddy! And not all that cinematographic. And here’s Sylvester Stallone’s eye as Rambo’s eye in 1985’s Rambo: First Blood Part II. Right before he emerges from the mud to take that guy out.
IDK, probably not much audience overlap between the first Hunger Games movie (2012) and Rambo II, but the Rambo scene was kind of iconic, and the Hunger Games movie people were probably aware of it — and didn’t want to do anything at all similar. Also, come to think of it, if Peeta had been this muddy, they would’ve had to address how Katniss cleaned him up (the priceless book scene of her rolling him into the stream! ), which they didn’t have time for. Regardless, rock face Peeta was not good.
