Honestly one of the major reasons to read is not to expand your mind or learn anything in particular but simply to hit on the rare pleasure/pain of encountering facts that you are pretty sure will never integrate properly into your brain. They will just sit there jaggedly outside the limits of your comprehension, forever, taunting you by revealing that your standard ways of processing can’t really encompass the way the world works, popping up when you least expect it and daring you to find meaning in them.
Anyway this post is about the KGB apparently having a Miss KGB contest in the 1990s in which the contestants wore bulletproof vests and the winner said her favorite drink was orange juice and her favorite man was James Bond.
