I’d heard that #plainszebra were stocky animals with fairly short legs, but their odd proportions didn’t hit home until I saw this dude lay down for a nap in the sunshine! See how the #stripes on his legs kind of fade out and don’t go all the way down to the hooves? That coat pattern identified him as a Chapman’s #zebra - a specific subspecies of the Plains zebra.
