CutieMarked Crusaders! I was pleasantly surprised that the show actually gave them marks, rather than drag that out indefinitely instead. Crusaders of the Lost Mark was one of my favorite episodes in season 5.
I’ve purposefully made their marks larger, as I disliked how tiny they appear to be in the show…

I liked Diamond Tiara’s musical redemption arc in Crusaders of the Lost Mark. And Silver Spoon delivered one of my favorite jokes in the series: “how do we stop them? We already called them ‘blank flanks!’”

I thought Starlight was a nice change of pace for a villain - not a “big bad” with a big plan, but a spiteful individual dealing with personal loss in the wrong way. She’s a more… “human” antagonist than the usual season-enders.

Something slightly different - non-equine silhouettes! Yay or neigh? Do we need more EQG?
The Dazzlings seemingly aren’t ponies (their only official pony forms appear on toy packaging, which I presume is just due to an aesthetic preference over mean-looking sea serpent creatures…), yet they still get the pony ears and “tails” in their transformed states. Go fig.

A request was made for Celestia in her (brief) goth appearance from the episode, “Between Dark and Dawn!” It felt wrong not to have a black version… so there is also a black version!

Zipp and Pipp! I like the new, colorful wing style on most of the G5 pegasus ponies… and then there’s Pipp, with her unique fluffy wings! I also liked the feathered hooves shown in the movie’s concept art, so I went with that!

New ponies! These two are my faves of the new mane crew - but more are coming :)
I liked the new movie! The story’s pretty simple, but the characters are all so likeable, with good songs (surprise sleeper hit, Angry Mob song), animation and humor. It’s a solid start for a new gen of ponies.

Edit: received some feedback that it looks a bit “cropped” - this is intentional; my primary monitor these days is an ultra wide, so the 3440x1440 version is the original design. When sizing down to 16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratios, some things change, and I try to keep the character(s) as large as possible in the available space. This sometimes results in background elements going out of frame on the right side. But, I can see where it might be more noticeable on this one… so I made some alternates where everything is in frame!

Original book horse and final form!
I hadn’t made a unicorn Twilight wallpaper yet, so what better time to remedy that than months after the series finale! And then there was big alicorn Twi too - whose design I’m not super fond of. I liked the finale though (aside from Grogar’s reveal… that was disappointing); that final song nailed it!
I had some hiccups in making these… life stuff, switching my website hosting provider, and some new hardware - including an ultrawide monitor. So I went ahead and added 21:9 versions for each!

Prince Pharynx! I like FiM’s misfit royal siblings! I also prefer his color scheme, and kinda wish they’d gone with darker tones on all of the reformed changelings…
Since I recorded my work on the previous silhouette, I had intended to do that again. But it didn’t happen on this one, because I started working on it in a trial version of Affinity Designer rather than Adobe Illustrator (and didn’t want to record myself being so clueless in an unfamiliar interface, ha). I like Illustrator, but I hate supporting Adobe’s subscription pricing model, so I was exploring alternatives. Affinity has a one-time price of $50 (wait for sale and you can get it half off), and it is very capable! My trial ran out, so I finished this one in Illustrator, but I bought the full version later on - so I’ll likely be using it again.

What a fun episode this one was! Love the kirin designs! Missed opportunity on the kirin queen though - clearly should’ve gotten a guest voice from Gilbert Gottfried there.
I also made - for the first time - a time-lapse vid! :O Been interested in trying this for awhile, and finally took the time to figure out the details. Could try doing more if it’s something people are interested in :)
