ok, imagine this.

you get cancer. your sibling does a ton of research and tells you about this medical center that has a near-miraculous rate of curing cancer, but it’s far away and they don’t accept just any patient. they hand you some papers and say “here, i got you some fake documents so you can fly to the medical center and get cured.” you’re suspicious, but you’re also desperate. you go and get surgery, and afterward your scans come up clean.

later, you and your sibling become estranged due to unrelated reasons, and then your sibling disappears and you don’t hear from them again.

then, that same sibling shows up on your doorstep with their spouse and another friend. the two of you have a fight, but they collapse partway through. you find out from the others that your sibling has cancer. can’t they just go to the medical center where you got cured?

well, no, it turns out, because that medical center was a ruse set up by your sibling. they got an actor to play the cancer specialist you talked to. the way you were cured was that your sibling and their two friends from medical school invented an entirely new type of surgery to transplant the cancer from your body to your sibling’s. your sibling then secretly went through chemo for years, and though they’re no longer in danger, they are permanently weakened.

this sounds ridiculous to you. what they’re talking about is impossible - and why would your sibling do that and then keep it a secret from you? you tell them it’s a load of bullshit.

but the friend pulls out evidence. photos, a medical scan, something that proves it beyond doubt. it seems like everyone your sibling loves is aware of this and is also judging you for being mean to your sibling, when you didn’t even realize they were sick.

before you can fully wrap your head around this, the two of them pick up your unconscious sibling and leave, though first, they make sure you know what a horrible person you are for making your sibling suffer like this.

now, imagine being jiang cheng -
