Me: “—and so I thought it was weird that they were calling them ‘theropods’ as if that clarified anything. I figured maybe they were trying to avoid calling them ‘velociraptors’, but why ‘theropods’? Why not just call them ‘raptors’?”
Coworker: “Probably because ‘theropods’ was what they were called in the script, so the actors were reading the script!”
…. that’s, like, not even Doylist. That’s, like, missing the point that even Doyle had reasons.
I had absolutely no idea how to respond to that.
And now I’m imagining you just carrying a bunch of print outs of your blog posts in your pocket to read to coworkers whenever things get a bit quiet.
