this is the g prompt for the @xlifealphabetevent! this one will need a bit of explaination xlifeblr has lore, that lore being that many years after x life, a group of people found the world and made it their own home. the prompt for this is got, a cryptid that we over on the xlifeblr discord created. it’s basically just some myth that had been discovered through books from the coven palace or some other place anyways, let us begin
Jackal stepped into the palace that belonged to the Witch Coven, a beautiful place, with a worn crystal in the center that had used up most of it’s magic by now.
Lemon was right behind her, looking around at the beautiful place that the people of the past had worked hard on.
The two of them walked down the steps and kept admiring the building around them, clearly filled with all sorts of magic.
“Well, which room should we look at first?” Jackal asked.
“Razz did say to collect as much information on this world as we could.. and it seems like there’s a library over there, so let’s see what information we could find through the books!” Lemon said, turning to the library.
“Alright!” Jackal walked over to the library, with Lemon in front of her. The place was very calm and cozy, with an old couch in the middle and a fireplace that the two of them assumed hadn’t been lit for many years now.
There were many book titles in the library, most of them being fiction.
“Stardust.. Amnesia.. Alone..” Jackal read the book titles out loud as she walked past them.
“Stardust sounds nice.” Lemon pointed out.
“Yes, but we’re looking for information, not a story.”
“Well, you never know!”
They turned to another shelf.
“..The Legend of Got?” Jackal grabbed a book from the shelf.
“Ooh, spooky.” Lemon said.
Jackal opened the book and turned to the first page.
The book was journal-like, and written in fancy handwriting.
But unlike the other books, which seemed worn and old, this one almost seemed brand new.
“Got is a tale that the X-Lifers told long ago, it had different interpretations to each member, depending on who you asked.
To one, it was a being of pure chaos, who blew up buildings and hurt players.
To another, it was a being that appeared to be peaceful, but slowly destroyed X Life from the inside.
But no matter who you asked, everyone agreed this being had evil intentions. Everyone lived in fear of it being real.”
“And you told me to not look at fiction?”
“Shut up, this could be interesting.” Jackal turned the page.
“One person said Got could shapeshift, and was in black and white colors. Word spread quickly, and soon most people thought Got could disguise itself as their friends.
Rumors of the tale made the people of X Life not bring in more people than they already have, in fear of their town being destroyed by this horrid monster.”
“Some said it was just a tale, some said it was real. The people of X Life wouldn’t know.”
“As the people of the town left what was their home..” Jackal read.
Footsteps lurked behind them.
“..a specific one tried to call to it, promising chaos and destru-”
“Boo!” Someone called.
“AAAH!” Jackal quickly turned around to see Sam behind her and Lemon.
Lemon and Sam burst out in laughter, with Jackal still startled, and the book dropped on the floor.
“C’mon you two, Razz is wondering where you’ve been!”
Jackal rolled her eyes and started to follow Sam out, while Lemon quickly put the book back and caught up to them.
