New York Comic Con commission preorders are open! If you or a friend are attending @newyorkcomiccon you can now order a custom piece for pickup at the con. All art is on 9x12” board and starts at $80 per character in grey marker and $100 in full color. Additional characters, backgrounds, props, etc. go up from there. I can also do the art on certain sketch covers that can be mailed to me ahead of time. This is for full size character art only. Headshots are available first come first served at the con. OC’s are welcome but please no anime/manga characters or caricatures/likenesses. There are artists out there that do those a lot better than me. All payments are made upfront through PayPal. I will be doing sketches on the con floor but my daily list fills up early so this is the best way to guarantee a piece. Also, color is only available for preorders. One of the greatest moments of my career happened this past Friday when the Ducktales episode “Beware the B.U.D.D.Y. System” aired on Disney Channel. Darkwing Duck is one of my favorite shows of all time and easily one of the most influential. I’ve got original DW model sheets hanging in my house, I’ve got a DW Maquette that I painted with the actual cel vinyl used to paint his original cells, heck I even chose to come work at Disney TV back in the mid 90′s to try and learn from guys like Toby Shelton who designed DW. The only guy I would bow to when it comes to DW fandom is Frank Angones@suspendersofdisbelief and when he asked me to board and design the sequence that would launch DW back into the limelight I couldn’t believe my luck! Cherry on the sundae was a message from DW Creator Tad Stones himself back awhile ago giving me the thumbs up! (You can’t imagine what a thrill and relief that was!) Huge thanks to Frank and Ducktales EP Matt Youngberg for allowing me to live out a dream! LET"S GET DANGEROUS!
It’s Friday! We made it gang. Here’s one more pose from the recently released episode of DuckTales, “Let’s Get Dangerous”? This one was both fun and challenging… drawing all of these iconic characters was almost like a bucket list item for me… I didn’t get many shots with them in the episode, and that made this one that much more special. Looking back I wish I’d had more time to go in and tighten things up a bit more, but that’s just how it goes sometimes.
