Silmarils were Feanor’s crown of creation. Bright, filled with light of Trees and still unborn Sun. Feanor was ready to fight for them, not because they were wonderful gems but for that Shine in them, for all he believed in. They were his own flaming heart and soul. This picture shows Feanor in that particular moment of creation, when he can forseer his future and he is ready to pursue anyone who’ll try to take over the Silmarills. Maybe he sees Morgoth, whom he hates and despises.
