( “A girl with dreams becomes a woman with vision.” ) When I was a little girl, I said I wanted to be an attorney. I was always the loud one, the bossy one, the one people told to be quiet. I was never very “traditionally feminine,” whatever that’s supposed to mean. ‍♀️ I am proud to say the following: (1) I never stayed quiet; (2) I always got louder; and (3) I stayed true to myself. Agree or disagree, not a single person can say I once wavered from who I am as a person. I’m a fighter. ✊ Allow me to reintroduce myself … Chelsea McCallum Donaldson, Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, Master of Social Work. ‍‍⚖️ Protester, organizer, activist, author, agitator, woman, daughter, sister, friend. #AboutLastNight … Pascale and I have raised a lot of hell, called a lot of BS, and worked together on a lot of efforts to organize events to educate our fellow students and colleagues about white supremacy and racism in Western New England School of Law.  It has not been easy, and a lot of the time, we received a lot of pushback.  Nevertheless, we persisted.

Together, we were awarded the James C. Faison Memorial Award for Multicultural Leadership, for our anti-racism work in WNEU Law, and our consistent effort to call BS when we see it.  The Dean’s Suite knew something was up whenever either of us were in their office, and we are a force to be reckoned with.  I normally don’t share awards like this, but this one?  I’m proud as hell of myself, of Pascale, and of the movement at WNEU Law to beat back on racism.

#BLSA and the #NLG are sisters in the struggle at WNEU Law, and I am thrilled to not only be rewarded for this effort, but to share the honor with someone who is just as tired of this bullshit as I am.  The goal is people being free.  We can envision a world where that is going to exist.
