Zoom-mates… After Hours

(Explicit)

Rayla giggled as they fumbled with the key to the house. Shadow and Sidhe came running at the sound of the opening door, mewing and protesting around their ankles.

“Em, should we feed them?” Callum asked, hands on her waist and lips on her neck.

“Pfft.” Rayla scoffed, moving backwards in the direction of the stairs. “Those chubsters are fine.

While she loved those two goofballs, they did not have her attention right now. Callum’s sweet, tender attention and support had somehow helped her relax and begin to enjoy this trip home. She wasn’t quite as good at showing her affection as he was. Well, not verbally, anyway. She was far more comfortable showing her appreciation and affection physically.

And They Were Zoom-mates… Chapter 37

Summary: Callum thought being a graphic designer for a large, multi-national company would be a boring, if safe, career choice Callum thought wrong.

Threatened with a lawsuit over copyright infringement, he has no choice but to rely on renowned ‘Ice Queen’ Rayla from legal to get him out of a nightmare scenario.

This is really the last thing he needs in isolation.

Pairing:Rayla/Callum

Rating:Mature

Rayla cringed, shifting in her chair. Another lazy morning just slightly put on edge by Runaan. What she wouldn’t give for a relaxed start to the day, especially considering she was supposed to be on holidays. It had been a nice morning so far, a decent sleep-in and then downstairs for breakfast, both of them still in their pyjamas.

The wood burning stove had been revived from the previous night, making the entire house cosy and inviting, despite the chill clearly lurking outside. Ethari and Runaan had been drinking tea in the kitchen as they did a crossword together when she and Callum emerged from their bedroom.

It had all been so pleasant.

Chapter 1/3: Rayla

Summary: Rayla spends Callum’s birthday coming to terms with her decision to find Viren without him. (prompt from @nothingmorethanageminiboar, fic takes place between pg. 117/118 of through the moon)

Rayla was leaving.
She was leaving, and she’d known it since the moment they’d been hauled out of the water.
Callum had lunged for her as soon as they were solidly on dry land, squeezing the breath she’d barely caught right back out of her chest.
“I couldn’t lose you,” he said, arms thrown over her shoulders, dripping wet hair pressed close against her cheek, and Rayla had frozen there, mid-embrace, the familiar pain of nearly losing him shifted sharply into focus.
Shewouldn’t lose him.

Six Sentence Sunday - Someone Like You

He takes a deep breath, then pulls back the blanket once more, pushing it down the end of the bed. Looking to Rayla for consent, next he lifts her nightshirt and gets a proper look at her wound. Pulling his bag beside him, he pulls out another glass jar and some strips of material. He looks at Rayla again, then begins to cut away the material over her wounds. The smell gets worse as he pulls the bandages away and Rayla tries not to look at them as he throws them into the bowl Lujanne supplied. The wet sound of material hitting the porcelain turns her stomach enough.
