What you need to know going in… I read this awesome fic way back when I was first submerging myself into the Reylo fandom and saw it on multiple rec lists. It is for a goddamn good reason! Modern AU in which Ben/Kylo is a professional figure skater and Rey is a hockey player Leia recruits to be his skating partner. I love figure skating and I love this story — the angst, the drama, the triple axels — it’s all great. (Complete, Rated M.)
What you need to know going in… Iron Chef AU! But more. Yes, Rey and Ben battle it out on Iron Chef — Ben as renowned chef Kylo Ren and Rey as Poe’s sous chef and secret weapon — but from there, they begin to form a tentative friendship. One thing I really love about this fic apart from the top-notch writing is how important Rey’s background and the class disparity between her Ben is to the narrative and their individual characterizations. It’s poignant, relatable, and it’s akin to what I yell at the Chopped judges every time I watch that show. (WIP, Rated M.)
What you need to know going in… IT IS A STARDUST AU! I mean. But really, this AU and this story deserves more attention! If you’re not familiar with the book/film Stardust, no need to be. Just know you’re in for a swashbuckling tale of romance, adventure, and magic across the skies — with Ben as Tristan and Rey as Yvaine. AND POE AS CAPTAIN SHAKESPEARE. If you love softboi Ben Solo, read this. And now I’m gonna get real saccharine and say that just like Yvaine/Rey, this story SHINES. (WIP, Rated M.)

It’s been three years since the Battle of Crait, and Rey is a teacher to Force-sensitive students when she willingly and intentionally gives herself over to Supreme Leader Kylo Ren. What you need to know going in… Modern AU, Professor/Student, but wow, what a story. Ben is Rey’s mysterious poetry professor, and I can’t… Like, it’s hard to even talk about this fic in so few words. It’s breathtakingly beautiful in its simplicity and depth of feeling. Slow, slow, slow burn, but man, does this beautiful story SIMMER. One of my all-time favorites, by far. (Complete, Rated T & Up.)
What you need to know going in… Demon Kylo shadows (had to, sorry) a young Rey throughout her life — out of love, and loyalty, and secrets you’ll savor as you sink into this beautiful, angsty but achingly sweet story. The descriptive language of Kylo’s demon form is particularly stunning. (Complete, Rated E.)
What you need to know going in… Yes, this fic is almost done but IDGAF, I’m including it anyway because literally two chapters in, you are WRECKED. In the best way. Berry is great at tearing you apart and putting you back together again and trust me, you’ll thank her for it. (Bonus! What you need to know going in… I haven’t had a chance to read much this week apart from struggling to keep up with a big influx of updates, BUT DAMN, I read this on a whim after chatting with the lovely author, @lonelyspacebabies, and I WAS NOT READY. It’s a post-TLJ one-shot in which Rey goes to Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, and not only are the Renperor vibes strong with this one, it’s all sensuously surreal and dream-like in its beauty. Plus, smut. You’ll spend such a short amount of time reading a lush little fic; trust me, it’s so well worth it. (One-shot, Rated E.)
