The verbose demon boi has broken into the 100K Club! Congratulations to Avior.
Let’s take a look at some behind the scenes stuff about him:
Avior’s storyline is a quite close adaptation of a story I outlined and started almost 8 years ago but ultimately never made much headway on. As a result of that, his is one of the few plots that I had a clear vision of in more or less its entirety before I ever even started it. Oftentimes I come up with a character, then figure out a plot surrounding them– with Avior, the story came first, then the character and characterization.
I wrote Avior’s entire first script before I had finalized the idea that D(a)emons would all have astral names. In that original draft of the script, and in the story that I had outlined years prior, his name was actually Axum.
Avior is one of my favorite characters. I’ve said time and again that I love playing a sarcastic guy with a good heart, and Avior very much fits that bill. While his story is a slow building (and burning) one, I love the opportunity to show more and more of him with each installment. This latest one where we get to explore his Stewardship and relationship with other Demons has been a particular highlight. And I stand by that one of my favorite videos I’ve ever made was his comfort audio. I’m very excited to continue his storyline, slow as it might be moving.
“Starlight” is my favorite petname that I’ve used thus far. I love a good classic petname, like “Babe”, “Angel”, “Cutie”, etc. But the deep personal significance the word holds for Avior and the uniqueness of it as a term of endearment just makes it really fun to use.
I very much used to be (and to some degree, still am) a total vocab nerd and I’ve enjoyed funneling that into Avior. It’s been asked if I have to get out a thesaurus for writing his scripts, and generally I don’t, but I did actually have to search around for quite a while to find the right word to describe his kind of Demon– “Inchoate”. It’s specifically meant to lean on the definition of “not organized; lacking order; formless” etc, derived from the nonspecific nature of their emotional feeding.
WAIT, avior is the last in the lineup for spring back.
That means we possibly get some more lore for him and starlight. It’s gonna be interesting to see when their story takes place. If it was before the incident or if it’s after he pulled them back in before the second incident
