So I think I’ve decided its impossible to have a het ship for Once Upon a Time hahaha. I ship Snow/Charming as much as the next viewer, but not in that omg-taking-over-my-life kind of way.

I *want* to ship Emma/Hook…and whenever they are on screen together I LOVE it; they have such wonderful chemistry and they are so well suited for each other. How they exchange barbs and exist in a moral grey zone and have had a lot of heartbreak. And if/when the show goes that way for them I’ll be happy to go on that ride.

But….

Whenever I step outside the show, away from that 60 minutes when its on, my feelings change. I try to read fanfic for them and I just can’t hahah. Same goes for other het pairings on this show. Though I do see the potential of a Red/Hook possibility; I could be on board for that.

However, I can read oodles and oodles of femmeslashy goodness for SO many of the badass ladies on this show.

Emma/Regina is pretty much canon for me at this point. Their sparring and antagonism and jealousy for the other is pretty much the foundation for one hawt love affair. And Regina’s path to redemption (which I sincerely hope she achieves) is about Henry, but SO much of it is actually about Emma. She needs Emma to accept her, to trust her, and like her. And My favourite parts of the show are when Emma and Regina are trying to overcome their differences (or really their similarities) and work together. And really - they have a kid together. Them moving in and being a family is just logical.

Belle/Ruby: Ruby is a badass. Belle is a badass. Plus the whole literalization of ‘The Beauty and the Beast’ story is far tooo tempting for my poor shipper brain. I like Belle/Rumple, but I think Ruby offers so much more to Belle than Rumple does. There is such a warmth between them, a genuine kindness and curiosity for the world. And Red ate her boyfriend *llama-side-eye*

Aurora/Mulan: please, this is SO canon is anyone debating this anymore? Even my Dad, who doesn’t know what shipping is, is all “KISS HER!!” when they are on screen. If only Disney wasn’t in control of this boat else we’d have some legit making out by now.

So, in conclusion; the possible het ships for OUAT are considerably less exciting than the femslashy ones.
