So I’m rereading Sharpe’s Havoc and I got to this one part
“I always wanted to play the flute,” Sharpe said to no one in particular.
“The fiddle,” Harris said, “I’ve always wanted to play the fiddle.”
“Hard that,” Harper said, “because it’s fiddly.”
Harper: “I was thinking. Things could be an awful lot worse, you know.”
Sharpe: “How the bloody hell could things get worse, Pat?”
Harper: “We could be without the cup of tea.”

I started rewatching the 90s TV series Sharpe, with no idea that after just one episode, this character would make such an impression on me!
Tough, grumpy but charming, full of confident swagger & sarcasm - how could I resist drawing him! So here’s a sketch of Richard Sharpe, as played by Sean Bean.
