What should have been the most amazing year of Gus Robinson’s life—his first year at Hillcott University of Art—starts out like an absolute nightmare. That is, until Jordan Zhao approaches him with an offer he can hardly refuse; he writes lyrics for her punk band, and she’ll help him obtain the social life most teenagers would commit federal crimes for. As long as he promises to bring his cousin Grace along to parties.
Gus is all in, no questions asked. Even if he should have asked at least a few, maybe. But he doesn’t, because he’s a kindhearted and trusting person, and not at all because Jordan is far too intimidating to say no to. Also certainly not because he desperately wants to spend more time with Jordan’s bass player, Javi Maldonado.
