rkrose‌:

if this year was going to be rose’slast year at royal, she had to go out with a bang. well, that’s what she decidedher approach to the new year was going to be. she had the intention to give it her all and once again, her training had come and consumedher. she spent her time at seocho and royal well, putting in time and actual effort into perfecting her daily routines along with this month’s evaluation, which rose was actuallyenjoying for once. she couldn’t really pin point why but something about this one felt different. somaybe that was a good thing.

amidst their evaluation preparation, shiah approachesan unsuspecting rose who is neck deep in prep work, which usually involves her memorizing choreography. her stern expression changes the moment she sees the older female walk into the room. “ah, shiah~” rose chimes, brushing her hair back from her face, waving a little. but shiah is forward, much more forward than rose is. “uh, i guess?” rose asks, raising an eyebrow. she glances around herself at the studio she was sat in. once, she wouldn’t be caught deadstaying back late, but now she had nothing else to do. she had to stay back and practice, rose had to prove herself and royal that she needed this.

“somaekandnoraebang, huh?” rose asks, reaching for her drink bottle, which she takes a swig from. a night out probablywouldn’thurt, it might motivate her to work a little harder. she just doesn’twant to push herself too hard tonight, because she’ll regretit tomorrow.

“yes, both of those things.” shiah was trying hard to remain assertive in this request of her’s, and she felt slightly uneasy that rose hadn’t said an affirmative yes yet. she holds for a moment, another, and then… she melts, shuffling over with drooped shoulders and wrapping her arms around rose from behind, burying her face into the back of the other girl’s shoulder.

“pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease?”

shiah typically didn’t get clingy or whip out light aegyo, but again, she was desperate here. “that boot camp was awful, and life is awful, and we deserve some fun. i’ll buy?” shiah was never worried about money, so offering to treat the other came pretty easily. she’d make good on it too. “i’ll help you organize all your sheet music and stuff too. come on, this is a really good deal here, you should totally take it!” she props her head up, craning it to look at rose and she beams at her. if this thousand watt smile didn’t work, shiah didn’t know what would.

she pulls back and take rose’s hand with both of her own, lightly trying to drag her out of the room while bouncing on her feet. “please, please, please~” shiah was no quitter, so she wasn’t going to give up without a fight here.

god, shiah was so damn tired.

that boot camp had taken a lot out of her. she was… okay, she supposed, but still. she could’ve had the most stamina out of anyone in the world and that rigorous three day torture session would’ve still winded her a bit. with all the work put into the evaluation performance, she felt like she deserved a little fun.

to the bar!

drinking alone isn’t fun though, and of all the other royal girl trainess, the only one who had seen her get ridiculous and wasted was rose. she was also one of the older ones among the other girls so she didn’t feel like it was inappropriate to ask her to come along. it made sense to ask her, plus it would help them bond a little more like they always said they wanted to but somehow never got around to it.

“you. we’re going for somaek. maybe noraebang if we get drunk enough. you’re free, right?” it was pretty assertive, not even a request really, but shiah was slightly - slightly - desperate to have a drinking partner here. hopefully rose said yes. otherwise shiah was about to feel pretty embarrassed.

@rkrose

it had been… a while since shiah and rose had last spoken. they had seen each other on the vacation weekend trip… thing the company had done, but since then? she hadn’t seen a lot of the girl, and conversation had been sparse. shiah had always wanted to get closer to rose, and she knew rose had wanted the same too, but for some reason or another it had never really happened. they always seemed to get too busy… but shiah had bonded with other royal girls. she wondered what the problem was, if either of them wasn’t actually intent on bonding, or if it slipped their minds…

seeing the other girl before her now, she can’t help but feel a pang of panic. it’s… awkward. it’s actually awkward to run into her. how unfortunate. “h-hey!!…. friend!” way to make it even worse, shiah. could anyone blame her though? it had been forever, what was she supposed to say? “how’s it going? been a while…” yup, definitely super awkward. how was she supposed to fix this?

feel something.

rkrose:

amidst her moping, stumbling into the apartment and collapsing onto thenearestsomewhat flat and comfortable surface, rose hadn’t noticed the older female sitting in their lounge room. jisoo looks comfortable, relaxed; farfrom rose’s current state of exhaustion. she awkwardly shakes her head. “nope, far from.” rose murmurs. she manages to push herself up into a sitting position, brushing stray strands of hair back from her face. she then loosens the tight ponytail atop of her head, once lilac toned hair, now silver, falls around rose’s face. she manages a sigh.

“just one of those days, i guess.” rose says with a shrug, fiddling with hair tie around her wrist. she glances across to jisoo and gives the older female asmile. “it’s okay though, i’m home now. all is well.” she wasn’t lying though. she felt aninstantsense of calm wash over her the moment she stepped through their front door. even if she had stumbled down the hall and fallenflaton her face, home was theone place that hadn’t changed in some while for her. it hadn’t had to.

rose scratches her head, figuratively. she wasn’t sure. she had eaten today at some point but it probably wasn’t half as appetizing as one would hope. she looks around awkwardly, biting her lip. “i won’t say noto that if you’re offering,” rose chimes softly. she didn’t want to inconvenience jisoo though. but how could she say no? “salmon, hey? it’ll be great, i’m sure. i put my trust in you.” rose gives the older female a little clap. she wonders if she could stand long enough to actually help jisoo with dinner, considering she would be the one eating part of it.

unfortunately, days like so are a commonplace for adults like them. jisoo can understand. sometimes, there are no rational explanations as to why they happen or why they won’t stop happening. they just do. terrible days are plenty and scattered in-between great and average days. as they go about their daily life, it is often just a question of what kind of day awaits them as soon as the morning sun rises. yet just as soon as it starts, it is also quick to end. jisoo supposes that is what is good about it; the tide will turn once you close your eyes and fall into sleep.

“that’s good to hear.” she answers, a small comforting smile on her lips. “at the very least, you can rest and relax now. truthfully, i don’t know what home holds but i always feel ten times better as soon as i step through our door when i’m having a bad day.” perhaps it is because this is the only place in the world where she knows with absolute certainty that there are no expectations needed from her. it is here that when she fucks up, things would still remain the same.

immediately standing up, she walks the short distance towards their kitchen. “perfect, i can make it right now for the both of us.” the meat was already out and defrosting so she sets out to gather all the other ingredients needed for the recipe. “thank you. fair warning, though, this would be my first time making this.” there is an amused glint in her eyes. “so i apologize in advance for turning you into my guinea pig. if it’s bad, just be perfectly honest.” she laughs a little as she picks up a chopping board. “i would appreciate it very much.”

feel something.

♡ ╎ @rkjisoo;

rose’s feet feel heavy as she trudges up the hallway of her apartment complex, fumbling for her keycard that’s somewhere in her bag. her apartment feels like it’s a million miles away, even if it’s only a few floors up. it’s just been one ofthosedays. one of those incredibly long, tiresome and beyond frustrating days. for themostpart, when she was in a good headspace, rose enjoyed her training. it was bearable, sometimes even pleasant. she would go to seocho or royal, endure her lessons, practice her evaluations and over lunch she would converse with her friends and her fellow trainees. it was easy done, a routine almost. but today … everything just went wrong.

she miraculously makes it into the elevator, white knuckles on the railings as she braces herself for the few second ride up to their floor. rose dips out and shuffles down the hall, eager to discard her bags and fall face first into her bed or whatever soft surface she can find herself. without any hesitation, she unlocks the door of jisoo, lisa and her’s apartment and inside she goes, kicking off her sneakers before stumbling down the hall. she manages to kick the door to her bedroom open with her heel on the way, tossing her bag into the room as she b-lines for the living room.

and onto the couch she flops, face first. rose flails her limbs for a moment, but she’s relieved to be home. she feels like she’s been lying there for a good while. with much effort, rose manages to roll onto her side only to be greeted by her beloved housemate. “evening, jisoo.” she chimes, giving jisoo a little wave.

she was home earlier than the other girls that day; the eagerness to wash off a day’s worth of exhaustion the very motivation that has her running for their doors as soon as the work hour ends. jisoo was ready to let the night run its course. preferably with good food and some entertainment. her evening routine circles around the promise of relaxation these days and maybe that is because she thinks this is truly what she needs the most. her days of shopping until her feet aches were long over. after all, nothing can quite make her feel like a normal human being than whatever it is that their home can offer as a remedy.

with her legs tucked comfortably underneath her body, she was nursing a cold glass of lemon water while exchanging messages with her mother. the living room is empty except for her, and noiseless except for her occasional sighs of frustration or short bouts of laughters as she reads her mother’s messages. when she hears the front door unlock, a greeting was poised at the tip of her tongue but she pauses, watching rose basically drag herself around the apartment. the younger’s exhaustion is unmistakable so much that she fails to feel her presence as another occupant of the room. maintaining her silence for rose’s benefit, she waits until the other turns to take notice of her. when she does, jisoo smiles softly.

“evening.” she murmurs in response. “not a good one, i suppose?” placing her phone down, her mind immediately refocuses on the task she’s about to embark on. “have you eaten? i can cook dinner for us. while i’m not the best at it yet, the salmon recipe i found online promised to be easy enough for my skills.” hopefully, food can help ease rose’s tiredness even for a tiny bit.

head full of dreams,

rkrose:

she felt selfish taking her own feelings into consideration when it came to the grand scheme of things, because what she decided would affect so many people. it’s why rose went back and forth on so many of her decisions, why she hated things changing even though change was a necessary part of life. ultimately by the end of the year, she would have enough clarity to decide if this path was the one for her. so for the time being, rose would keep her head down and keep working hard. rose didn’t want any of her superiors in royal to start questioning her motives if she were to suddenly start slacking off. she knows how that ends all toowell.

jisoo’s words once again bring hercomfort. it’s reassuring, hearing it from her whereas it’s silly sounding when she tells herself. she looks down at her hands, clasped in her hands and smiles, giving the older female a nod. “i will.” she chuckles at the intelligent part, rose didn’t really agree with that one but she wasn’t going to argue. rose really didn’t like to think about where or who she would be without lisa and jisoo, jennie too. the four of them had their house together, years of memories shared together inside those walls. good memories, happy ones but also some sad and difficult ones. it was any girls dream to live with her bestfriends, it was any girls dream to have friends like them

and rose waslucky enough to have such a wide, good circle of friends who were supportive and good to her, always, even when she wasn’t the greatest person to be around. “i wonder if we all would of become friends if we all ended up at royal,y’know, even without moving in together and knowing eachother prior.” rose queries, looking at jisoo. “i’d like to think thatfate probably would of brought us together somehow.”

the nostalgia of being a child and having your decisions made for you hits from under her rationale most days. when there are too many pressing decisions to make, she’s reminded about the simpler times in life. her parents were always so cognizant of her needs and carried away from her the burden of having to choose at a young age. she was rebellious then—often acting as though she is being forced into doing what they want. in reality ( and she knows this now ), they were only looking out for her. it was a realization that saddens her knowing that she has already reached a point in adulthood where she can finally understand them, wishes even to sometimes be back at that age.

yet such is the way of life. you grow, you learn, and you eventually make mistakes forcing you to learn all over again. it was the hand they’re constantly being dealt with and it comforts her that no matter what, they are still there standing. this faith is what tells her that she and the girls will eventually find their way; make decisions worthy of them. whether that will be in keeping the company of each other or not, they will be okay. they have weathered through enough together that nothing can shake them anymore.

jisoo smiles softly and without giving it much thought, she nods her head. “i believe we would too.” pausing, she thinks for a good second before she continues. “there are soulmates in friendship as much as there is romance. i believe that you girls are mine because i feel as though no matter what universe we’ll be in, the three of you will always be there for me.” the older lets the vulnerable thought sink in, basking in the proceeding silence that fell towards them. after what feels like a quarter has gone, jisoo glances at the younger girl and gestures towards the mirror. “let’s have another go at it.” figures it should be time for responsibility again.

end.
