AKA, my six-word summary of “Devilman Crybaby”
So, in episode 7, we see that Ryo’s appartment number is 666.

I NOTICED THAT THE FIRST TIME, SO HOW THE HELL DID I NOT PUT TWO AND TWO-OR 666, RATHER-TOGETHER?
I’M A LITERAL GOD DAMNED IDIOT.
So, having never read the original manga or seen the orignal OVA, my thoughts on Ryo and his motivations through Netflix’s series went as follows…
Episodes 1-5: Okay, this guy’s a nut, but like….chaotic neutral, maybe?
Episode 6: Okay, I thought he wanted to protect humans from demons…clearly that’s not the case anymore, if it ever was…..um, WHY is he doing this again!?!!!
End of Episode 7: So even HE doesn’t know why he’s doing all this crazy shit….but I’D sure as Hell like to know!!!!!
Episode 8: Ummm…are they hinting that he might be the Anti-Christ?
Episode 10: NEVER MIND, HE’S STRAIGHT-UP SATAN. WE HAVE SATAN UP IN THIS BITCH!!!
