#sacrificing curse

My dear Horsemen Of The Dramapocalypse, question time!

I dismissed this early on but it keeps bothering me. Was Jiang Cheng in on the Mo Xuan Yu “Sacrificing Curse” to become Wei Wuxian? I ask because of the extra slashed wound on WWX’s arm that only healed on the last episode when Jin Guang Yao died. If he wasn’t in on it, why would MXY even bother? Did JC go in cahoots with Nie Huai Sang even for just that part? When it was shown on the last episode, it is sort of implied that it was Jiang Clan’s revenge fulfilled / resolved rather than the Nie Clan’s?
