Rewatched the karate kid II and again I’m reminded why this movie is gold
Here we get:
- Background about Mr. Miyagi, his homeland, and the culture.
- Kumiko
- Yukie and Mr. Miyagi’s love story as they still love each other after yrs.
- The beautiful yet sad scene with Mr. Miyagi who just lost his father and daniel telling him his experience as they both were able to say goodbye to their fathers.
- Rivalry from one generation to another despite how daniel told chozen that just because their senseis have their problem doesn’t mean that they should too. Idk it parallels with the current situation in cobra Kai how Daniel and Johnny’s rivalry passed onto sam vs tory/ miguel vs robby.
- The chemistry between kumiko and daniel. Their relationship had a different spark compared to daniel and ali.
- Daniel saving yuna and how we got a small moment of them talking to each other towards the end of the movie.
- Daniel learning about Mr. Miyagi’s ancestry and new techniques.
- Kumiko teaching daniel the obon dance
- Chozen vs daniel
- Daniel’s outfit and blooded up from the fight as we see how much he progressed from the last movie.
- The soundtrack and Mr. Miyagi’s smile at the end of the movie as he’s so proud of him.
