Season 20 episode 14: “The Severance”
George is required to get severed for his new job, but when the procedure doesnt work he tries to pretend to be severed so his employers dont find out. Elaine becomes convinced that Puddy’s been severed when he begins acting strangely. Kramer elects to sever, but becomes increasingly paranoid his “innie” is gay. Jerry tries to use messages via carrier pigeons to win an argument.
George: god, Jerry, this guy at my new job—
Jerry: The severed job?
George: Yeah?
Jerry: Aren’t you not supposed to remember guys at your work? Isn’t that the point, to not remember all the jerks at work so you’re not angry when you get home?
George: well, uh, the thing is— it didnt work.
Jerry: it didnt work? That’s not good! Isnt there top secret stuff down there?
George: I know, I know! I just didn’t want to do the whole surgery again, so I just started pretending I didn’t know anything, and they haven’t caught on yet!
Jerry: Brain surgery is definitely a hassle.
Kramer: (bursts in) Jerry, I need you to smell my neck. Is this men’s cologne?
