You hadn’t spoken or see Chris for days now. You tried to text and call him, but they went unanswered. You started to lose hope that you would ever be able to fix this. You slowly stopped calling and texting until you completely stopped. Completely devastated that you had once again lost him.
You dodged Scott’s calls too, you couldn’t face him just yet. You felt incredibly guilty about ignoring him or coming up with lame excuses, but what was your other options. Tell him everything? Tell him about you and Chris? How for weeks now you had been lying and sneaking behind his back, sleeping with his brother?
If things were truly over between you and Chris, you wanted to grieve that loss privately. Burying it down until it was pretty much forgotten. Allowing you to move on with your life and still have Scott be a part of it.
Scott is going to get suspicious with those kinds of answers. Best friends share details. Cryptic responses will only go so far. At least he was able to give her solid advice. These two were breaking my heart.

Chris had prepped you on what it would be like when you got back to LA, but you were still shocked. As soon as you landed there were paps waiting for you. Shouting questions at the both of you. You kept your head down, trying to hide your face with a cap and sunglasses. Holding onto Chris’ hand tightly as he led you out of the airport and to the car that was waiting.
The original plan was that you would be dropped back off at your house since you had to go into work the next morning. That plan was scrapped when you saw the large crowd of paps waiting at your house. Chris told the driver to keep going and head straight to his house.
“Maybe it’s best that you stay with me until this dies down a bit since I have more security and privacy at mine” Chris says squeezing your hand reassuringly.

The drive back to Chris’ house was silent. Neither of you knowing what to say or do following the events of the evening. You glanced over at Chris to see him grasping the steering wheel so tight his knuckles were white. You could still see the red mark where Scott had punched him, his lip was split too.
As you walked in dodger came bounding over unaware of the sour mood. The two of you did your best to respond to his excitement but it was hard.
“I’ll go see Scott tomorrow morning try and talk to him, I seem like the main villain at the moment and maybe he’ll be calm enough to talk then” Chris sighs running his hand down his face wincing when he touched the spot where he’d been punched.
“Let’s get an icepack on that try and avoid you getting a bruise” you say taking his hand and leading him into the kitchen.
I feel like Scott is being a bit over dramatic. He has every right to be upset about being kept in the dark, but fleeing to the other side of the country feels like a bit much. Thank goodness the rest of the family is on board.
