Life update: I’m gonna be a travel nurse quitting this fuck ass job next month and I’ve submitted to hospitals in Arlington VA, Marshfield WI, and Grand Junction CO!! I work 3 months straight then take a month off in between!! Turn up
Update #2: I’ve got a job in Arlington!! Oncology med surg making 3x my staff pay rate!! 13 weeks starting in November
Update #3: the unit manager wants me to extend through May and I think I’m gonna do it
As you may have noticed, it’s been quiet around here lately - I’d been struggling for a bit with my chronic health condition, and at the end of October everything crashed… kind of hard. I spent all of November struggling, and while I’m on the up-and-up now (knock on wood), this has meant I haven’t been able to do much of anything, but in particular, work on things that help me get paid. American healthcare being what it is (read: expensive), this is something of a problem!
With that in mind, I wanted to let you guys know that I’ll be raising my commission prices at the end of December. I’m so honored that you like my art enough to hang around my blog, and I love getting to draw for you, so I try to keep my commissions affordable! It’s been over a year now since I last adjusted my prices though, and I think I’ve grown enough as an artist to justify a bit of an increase as a result.
In the meantime, if what I do has positively impacted you, it would mean a lot if you’re able to toss a couple dollars my way at the link below as I try to get caught up on work and recover! Thank you guys so much again for your support - I love you all and I’m so grateful to get to share my art with you!
In an exciting turn of events, I’ve now learned that the new long-term medication I’m going to be on is quite literally ten times the cost of what I have been on, so the fact I had already come to this decision is something of a relief! Five dollars a month to fifty! For some context, that’s the equivalent of one person at the voting level on my Patreon to, now, nearly half of my total patron support!
SO here is a reminder as I’m finalizing my new prices over the next couple days that they will be changing, as well as my ko-fi link again in bold above if you are so inclined!
And if I may address my fellow Americans for a moment, please consider supporting the idea of abolishing the private healthcare system in favor of a public one, because “you have to pay inordinate amounts of money to stay alive” is a very stupid thing!
