The waves were crashing over me. I was struggling to stay above the water. I gasped for air as I came up to the surface. Once again the wave crashed over me pulling me out further into the ocean. I knew the end was near, that my life was coming to an end. I went under the water once more, my body sinking down. I was tired so I didn’t try to fight against it anymore. I felt someone wrap their arms around me pulling me to the shore. His hand against my neck trying to get me to breathe. His hands starting to push against my chest, his lips against mine breathing for me. I gasped for air opening my eyes to see everyone around me. He helped me sit up watching me catch my breath. I looked at him as I finally caught my breath, my heart rate slowing back down to normal.

“Are you ok?” he asked.

“Yea I’m ok” I swallowed hard.

“I’ll get the medic if you need it” he sat down in front of me.

“I’ll be fine” I smiled slightly.

“Good” he smiled as he looked at me.

“Thank you for saving me” I looked at him.

“No problem” his eyes looked into mine.

I gazed into his eyes for a split second. Until I heard my name being called by many people. I turned to look and see that all my friends were coming up to me. I stood up I was still a little wobbly but I managed to stay on my feet. I reassured everyone that I was ok and there was no need to worry. I walked back to my stuff slipping my bathing suit cover. I saw him walking towards me, I turned to face him.

“Are you sure you are ok?” he asked.

“Yea I’m fine, thank you again” I smiled slightly.

“Want to grab some lunch?” he looked at me.

“I’m pretty hungry so that sounds good” I grabbed my bag.

“Let’s go,” he said.

He grabbed his stuff and we walked away from the beach. We walked down the street and of course, there was plenty of food options to choose from. He grabbed my arm pulling me into a burger shop, I laughed and walk behind him. We stood in line and I stood behind him. I started to play with his hair, making him turn around to face me. I smiled and put my hands behind me acting as I didn’t do anything. He smiled brushing the hair from my face, tilting my chin up slightly. I looked up at him for a quick seconds before looking away. He walked up to the counter and order his food and I ordered my food. He paid for both and we took a seat as we waited for the food. He slides into the booth with me, placing his hand against my leg. I looked at his hand moving my eyes up his body, our eyes meeting once again.

“So tell me things about you” he spoke softly.

“Well, what do you wanna know?” I asked.

“Why were you so far out in the ocean?” he questioned.

“I wasn’t at first but the waves caught me,” I said.

“Waves have a crazy way of doing that” he smiled slightly.

“Yea the ocean will just suck you in” I smiled as I looked at him.

It was like we knew each other forever but the truth was that we didn’t. I never truly believe in people falling in love quickly but our connection was something else. I guess you just know when it feels right and this just felt right. I smiled slightly as I looked down. He titled up my chin, brushing his thumb against my chin. I looked at him, down towards his lips wondering what was going through his mind. I couldn’t be the only one that felt this way right? I leaned towards him slightly allowing him to make the first move. He leaned in the rest of the way pressing his lips against mine softly. I placed my hand against his chest pulling on his shirt as I kept the kiss between us. I smiled against his lips as I heard the waitress walk up to our table. I pulled away slightly as she placed the food down on the table.

“Thank you” he nodded towards the waitress.

“No problem,” she said as she started to walk away.

“I’m sorry,” I said.

“For?” he looked at me.

“The kiss, we don’t even know each other,” I said as I looked down.

“Don’t be sorry” he titled up my chin, kissing me softly.

I smiled against his lips as he placed his hand against my neck. I leaned my forehead against his looking up into his eyes. We both pulled away and started to eat. We both finished our food around the same time. We got up and left the shop walking back to the beach. I sat back in the same spot I had before everything happened. He sat next to me placing his arm around my shoulders. I leaned towards him as I started to think about the waves again. I closed my eyes just making my anxiety that much worst. I gasped for air as I remembered the water crashing over me. He pulled me closer rubbing my back making everything go away. I looked at him as he looked down at me making sure that I was ok.

“Breath” he held my hands in his hands.

“The waves” I looked at him.

“You are fine, I got you,” he said.

I nodded slowly as I kept eye contact with him. I finally calmed down and rested back in his arms. The sun started to set and I loved this part of the day. It was so peaceful and beautiful, nothing really could describe it. It was breathtaking and I tried to watch the sunset as much as I could.

“Perfect way to end the day” he whispered.

“Totally” I snuggled closer to him.

“How often do you do this?” he questioned.

“I try to get out here to watch the sunset 3-5 times a week. Sometimes I’m too busy to get out here” I said.

“I come out here every night” he rested his head against mine.

Over the next few weeks, we drew closer to each other. Always meeting at the beach, he was trying to teach me how to surf. Which was basically impossible since I didn’t have much of a balance. I crashed into the wave once I came up for air I grabbed my board. I went back to the shore and sat down watching him surf. He finally came back to shore and sat next to me.

“Want some water or something?” he asked.

“Icy?” I looked at him.

“Blueberry icy come right on up” he smiled as he got up.

“Thank you” I yelled out as he walked away.

He returned back to the spot with a bottle of water and my icy. I took it from his hand and started to enjoy it. He sat down next to me taking sips from the water bottle. He placed his arm around my waist and pulled me a little closer. I leaned in towards him and kissed his cheek softly. I looked out towards the water, the sun still very high in the sky. I got up from where we were sitting and started to get my things together. Unfortunately, I had to go to work while he could stay at the beach. He got up as well pulling me closer to him. I smiled as I wrapped my arms around his neck moving closer to him. I leaned in and kissed him softly. He kept the kiss between us until I pulled away. I left the beach as he sat back down, I got off work in time for the sunset. I made my way back down to the beach and of course, he was in our perfect spot. I sat down next to him, he turned and smiled at me.

“You made it,” he said.

“I haven’t missed a sunset since I’ve met you,” I said.

“True” he kissed my cheek softly.

“So why would I miss this one?” I looked at him.

“You wouldn't” he placed his hand against my chin.

“I love you” I whispered.

“I love you” he leaned in softly kissing me.

I smiled against his lips resting my forehead against his. We stayed on the beach and watch the sunset. I got up and stretched my legs as the darkness took over the sky. He grabbed my waist turning me to face him. He slowly started to push me back towards the water. I tried to stop him but then he picked me up running into the water. The waves crashed over us and we were separated. He pulled me back to him, I wrapped my legs around him. The water continued to crash against us but we stayed together. I kissed him softly as he wrapped his arms around me keeping us close. I swam back to the shore, getting out of the water. He wasn’t too far behind me as we went back to get our things.

“Why did you do that?” I looked at him.

“Because why not” he smirked.

“You are so annoying” I rolled my eyes playfully.

“I know but somehow you still love me” he wrapped his arms around me.

“I do” I smiled as I looked at him.

“Then you can’t be mad” he kept me close to him.

“I could never be mad at you” I leaned up kissing him softly.

He ran his hands down my sides gripping my hips. He gently picked me up allowing me to wrap my legs around him. I smiled against his lips as his hands slipped to my ass. I wrapped my arms around his neck just to make sure I wouldn’t fall. I knew he wouldn’t drop me but I just wanted to make sure. I smiled against his lips as he rested his forehead against mine. He placed me back down on the ground, I grabbed my bag. He got the rest of the stuff and we made our way to his car. I placed the stuff in the trunk before getting into his car. Days turned into months and we just grew closer with each other. I laid back against his bed as he made his way out of the bathroom.

“Why are you so perfect?” he asked as he leaned against the door frame.

“I’m not” I looked at him.

“To me you are perfect” he smiled slightly.

“Why thank you” I looked away as I started to blush.

“Can I ask you something?” he asked as he sat on the bed.

“Sure” I looked back at him.

“Will you move in?” he looked at me.

“With you?” I asked.

“Yes with me, here. You are always here anyway so why not make it official” he said.

“I would love to move in with you, I have to talk with my landlord” I nodded.

“Sounds like a plan” he leaned over kissing me softly.

“I like the sound of that” I smiled against his lips.

I laid back against the bed as he moved over top of me. I smiled as I looked up at him. He leaned down kissing me softly pulling my bottom lip. I couldn’t help but giggle as he did. He moved his lips down to my neck gently sucking against it. I let out a moan as he moved his lips down to my collarbone. I ran my hand down his chest, playing with his shirt.

“Tell me what you want” he whispered in my ear.

“You” I whispered.

“You got me” he smiled against my skin.

“I know” I turned his chin kissing him softly.

“I love you” he looked at me.

“I love you” I looked into his eyes. “I have to get going” I pouted.

“Stay” he whispered.

“I wish I could” I placed my hand against his cheek.

“Please” he pouted.

“Will you make it worth my wild?” I questioned.

“Of course” he smirked.

He talked me into staying instead of going to work. That night was worth losing my job. We were tangled up with each other all night. It was nearly 3am before we went to bed. Over the next few days, I broke my lease and moved in with him. I couldn’t explain our connection or the love that we had for each other. We both knew it was right for us and at the end of the day, that’s all that matters. I did get another job to help pay for the rent but he never accepted a dime from me. I just loved waking up in the morning with him next to me. I laid in bed watching him sleep, watching him breathe. I’m sure he watched me sleep as well. He was my life saver but somehow he became the love of my life as well.
