We are kicking off Banned Books Week with a #SundayShelfie dedicated to one of the most famous banned books! Although beloved internationally, Harry Potter is considered by some religious groups to promote witchcraft and satanism leading to the series being banned in select schools and libraries in the U.S.
Banned books are the best books! Books like The Great Gatsby,To Kill a Mockingbird,The Color Purple,Lord of the Flies,Their Eyes Were Watching God, and THE LORD OF THE RINGS (those poor children), have often been challenged and banned due to their content. Don’t fear. We have all of these books and more at our library.
