For the last couple of days I have been drawing Shibden Hall on a friend’s wall because they like Gentleman Jack so much
Ann Walker: Sometimes when I’ve tried to avoid doing something or going somewhere but then had to do it anyway, I’ve often come away feeling like it’s been one of the best days I’ve ever had. So maybe, if you went, the thing that seems complicated might… sort itself out.
Can we take a second to talk about that scene? The way Anne looks at her and almost kisses her as if it was the complete normal thing to do. Yeah, that same Anne who locks the door, shuts the blind and checks behind her back before kissing. I think at that moment she saw someting in Ann, something much more significant in her. I think that’s where it shifted from the idea of being with her for her money to wanting a true companionship.
