#shining moon tokyo
Before we get the Kaguya-hime no Koibito musical later this year, I’m going to be doing 2 Moon rankings! One of our recorded Moons, and one of the ones that haven’t been officially recorded (so it’ll all be down to fan-taken clips for that OTL) With that being said, here’s my ranking of the un-recorded Moon Actresses! Now obviously, none of these actresses have been officially recorded in a full musical, so my knowledge on them is slim! This is just my opinion based on what I’ve seen/heard!
DISCLAIMER this is all my personal opinion and I love ALL the Moon actresses!
5. Kanae Yumemiya
Why is Kanae so low, you may ask? She’s the Moon we’ve seen the most for all the Super Live actresses. You can definitely hear her strain in her voice trying to make it higher for Usagi. And personally I’d just prefer if she talked in her normal speaking voice. It’s really SO pleasant! If you’ve seen her interview at Anime Expo, you’d know. She has a very nice voice, both talking and singing. I just wish she wouldn’t try to squeak her lines because it just sounds a bit… grating.
4. Natsuki Koga
A true enigma to the Myu community. Natsuki was never featured in any promotional material (Team Heart/Paris) and didn’t get to have any shows outside of the Tokyo Preview (Team Paris/Team America) so really, all we have is pictures of her at the end of the show and backstage. I am fortunate enough to have heard her sing and see her practice moves on her Instagram. She is SO talented. The Super Live is slept on as a whole, but they REALLY slept on Natsuki. She has so much talent in her and was never truly utilized. I hope one day footage of her performance gets released because OMG I can only imagine how good she was!
3. Shina Tanaka
SHINA IS PRECIOUS, OKAY? Absolutely adorable. From all the fan-clips I’ve seen of Shining Moon Tokyo, she is SO cute playing Usagi! Now both The Super Live and Shining Moon Tokyo are very caricature-like performances, so she’s very animated and adorable. Her smile just warms your heart and like all SMT and TSL actresses, she’s a good dancer on top of it! Her only solo that we’ve seen was lip-synced so I really can’t tell how her live vocals are, but she’s just nice. I really enjoy all the clips I’ve seen of her!
2. Tomomi Kasai
Being a former AKB48 member, Tomomi is SO talented. She can dance, she can sing, she can act. And on top of all that, she’s a huge Sailor Moon and Sera Myu fan! She’s done covers of La Soldier and Densetsu Seitan. While La Soldier is a song featured in The Super Live, Densetsu Seitan is not and it’s REALLY nice to see new Myu actresses pay tribute to the older songs! Tomomi’s cry is CHILLING. I kid you not. I WISH out of all TSL performances, hers got recorded and released. Her talent is on a whole other level and I really hope one day we get to see it!
1. Reona Samejima
OKAY Y’ALL, DON’T @ ME FOR PUTTING REONA HIGHER THAN TOMOMI. But like… Reona gives me so many Satomi vibes it’s uncanny. Like Shina, we don’t get to hear her live vocals, but her solo in Moonlight Densetsu is SO nice. She’s so adorable and not in an over-acting way that Shina is. I don’t know why I love her so much, but I always looked forward to seeing her Moonlight Densetsu clips on Twitter. xD But yes, I really really wish we had more Reona content, I have a feeling she could’ve been one of my all-time faves. ;-;
