Hayato doesn’t WANT Yuto to grow up!!!

Shinkai was typically willing to hear out Toudou while he was in hysterics. However, Toudou didn’t quite always feel heard by Shinkai. He was just so…mellow. Toudou was perfectly aware that perhaps a few more things phased him than was normal for a person, but he was certain that Shinkai was abnormally mellow.

He had his moments, of course. His red-eyed, tongue wagging moments.

But let’s not go there.

Toudou wanted to see Shinkai show a different kind of passion. Not caring-for-bunnies passion. Not demonic passion. Something else.

His wish was granted in a strange way–a little unfortunate, actually, though it turned out alright.

Despite his best efforts to remain impassive and, failing that, remain optimistic about the future, Toudou burst into hot, angry tears at the news that Maki-chan would be going to England.

And, as he trusted Shinkai to be the most receptive, he brought his messy stream of angry tears to him.

“England!” He said, voice increasingly shrill. “England?? Why? He might as well be going to Mars!!” Toudou coughed and choked over his words, body shaking with–well, with sadness and grief and anger and anxiety. He was a passionate guy, after all.

But Shinkai, instead of giving him his usual soft-eyed, usually rational responses, walked up to him, picked up both his hands, and kissed them.

Toudou stared for a long moment. “…Eh? Shinkai?”

Shinkai pulled him closer by his hands and kissed his face, then brought a hand up to pat his cheek.

“You’ll be alright, Jinpachi. You’re too pretty to cry, so stop it.”

He had a point. But–what on earth?

“What…what…?” Toudou blinked the tears out of his eyes and tucked his hair behind his ear, flushing all the way down his neck and looking up through his lashes at him. “Um…what?”

Shinkai raised his eyebrows at him, smiling. “Didn’t hear me?” He said, then pulled an arm around Toudou and kissed him full on the mouth.

Bless Maki-chan, Toudou thought.
