This sounds good, recognising the issue, but most of the times I wasn’t diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in the 7 years it took me to get diagnosed, it was because the doctors thought if my life somehow got better soon, I would be OK. They refused to consider that, although very much caused by poverty, being legitimately sick was something was a significant reason I was struggling to get out of poverty.

If they had been willing to diagnose me with a medical illness, instead of just being poor and overworked, I would have had a much better chance of getting better sooner.

This is one of the many ways Britain is stuck firmly in a ‘they just need to pull themselves up’, conservative mentality that keeps poor people poor and sick.
