Used block characters to draw the logo in TED on MSX, and then printed it out on coloured paper on my VW-0030 matrixprinter.

I’ve been so occupied playing with my MSX stuff that I forgot to post this little update!

Last saturday I went to the MVM (MSX Vriendenclub Mariënberg) MSX gathering/auction! This was my first time visiting, but they were friendly enough to let me borrow an NMS8250 and monitor so I could play around while there, so I only had to bring the cartridges I needed.

The auction was pretty interesting. There were lots of cool bits of hardware available, like a Philips Music Module, an original FMPac cartridge, and of course a fair amount of MSX machines (mainly Philips and a few Sony ones) and boxes of floppies and books.

Bidding was pretty heated. All items started at 1 euro, but it didn’t take long for most of them to go up very high. I bid on a few items, but ultimately they went over the price I was willing to pay for them.

In the end I did end up winning the beautiful slotexpander pictured above, so I’m fairly happy with that, and gives me more room for expansion.

Apart from the annual auction there wasn’t much action going on (apart from watching some demos and playing one or two short games ^^), but the general vibe was very friendly and welcoming, so even if it’s a two-and-a-half hour journey to get there, I’m sure to return in the future!
