Recently an eighth grade teacher at one of our feeder schools told me that when she visits our high school in the late spring for Freshman Step Up Day with her students, I’m one of the very few teachers that is always still teaching my class. I felt simultaneously proud of me and ashamed of my school; the internal conflict was real.
