Before I transferred I was a biology major, but here I am a molecular biology major, because my current school has broken their biology department into molecular bio and organismal bio/ecology, and I strongly prefer the molecular/micro stuff to the organismal.
When you tell people you’re majoring in biology, they’re like “oh, that’s nice”
but when you tell people you’re majoring in molecular biology, they’re like “OOooooo THAT sounds HARD you must be SO SMART”
