This isn’t what I’m supposed to be doing right now, but I think it’s important that we all take a moment to reflect on the fact that the climax of the Soul Society Arc B-side took place in socks. (Well, tabi. But SOCKS.)
Discovery of the murdered Council of 46? Socktown.
Dramatic rooftop chase, up to and including shikai release? Still socktown (for all the good it did those tiles, RIP).
They’re not even inside anymore, though I suppose they were all in a hurry. There are some other non-chase rooftop scenes where they’re not wearing sandals, but I’m not sure if the roofs are always an “indoor” sandal-free space or not.
