Why couldn’t Toshi have ever taught Izuku how to play with One For All? Why couldn’t he have realized “wait the easiest and most efficient way to make him comfortable with this quirk is to make it FUN”?

I want Toshi tossing high-speed baseballs and frisbees into the air and telling Izuku to catch as many as he can. I want him daring Izuku to jump as high as possible and encouraging him to try again and again, like “see if you can reach the top of that tree” and “wait wait let me film it this time!”

I want off-the-handle spontaneous races!!! Toshi booking it in a direction suddenly while they’re calmly walking or chatting and shouting “catch up if you can!!” over his shoulder, laughing to himself as Izuku shouts out in surprise or indignation and scrambles after him.

I want!!!! Play-wrestling!!!!!

I want Toshi tossing Izuku over his back, manhandling him into gentle choke holds and picking him up by the ankle! I want him teasing and taunting, riling the boy up and making himwant to play fight! I want him beaming with pride and joy when Izuku climbs him like a monkey and manages to wrestle him to the dirt out of sheer cleverness and determination if not any skill or finesse.

I want Toshi glowing as he manages to coax out Izuku’s unseen competitive side, and only doing it more and more as he realizes how incredibly, genuinely FUN it is to hang out with his successor like this! Doubly so, because all this play is so very helpful for his coordination and OFA control! And wow, when was the last time he’s ever loved being a part of One For All or this legacy this much?
