I feel like I’m seeing an uptick in fear mongering about “Tricker Spirits,” there’s more of it even than usual. Can anyone explain to me when, and more importantly why, this has become such a boogeyman?

Is it because people expect entities to only tell the truth now? Is it because people commit to an entity faster now? The possibility of reaching out to an entity and getting the wrong one, but having whatever you contacted play along with you for it’s own reasons used to be regarded sort of as part of the job. But it seems like every week I see someone trying to talk about it like it’s something out of a horror movie, not a fact of life, and that confuses me.

So can you guys help me understand this culture shift that I seemed to have missed?
