Michael Joseph is publishing a new travel-inspired memoir from Sue Perkins called East of Croydon: blunderings through India and South East Asia.
Differing from her 2015 autobiography Spectacles (also Michael Joseph), the book follows the comedian, presenter and writer as she travels mostly around Southeast Asia. Notable experiences covered in the book include driving the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail and exploring the tranquil Mekong River, shared as part of a “hilarious and heartfelt adventure”.
East of Croydon will be published on 18th October, £20 hardback.
The rebooted classic, hosted by Mel Giedroyc, 50, and Sue Perkins, 48, was blasted by fans who switched off in their millions for the second of two episodes.
The revival was so poor that bosses cut the number of shows in half — after initially filming four — because they thought they were not good enough.
But BBC bosses have decided to give the gameshow, which features pairs of family members across generations competing to win prizes, another go after it rated well in their own audience research.
A BBC source said: “The BBC have booked a new filming slot for Mel and Sue to have another go at the Generation Game.

Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins have paired up for a brand-new show. The “partners-in-crime” are back together as Bake Off duo Mel and Sue reunite for their new Sky1 show Hitmen – and this time they’re being literal. As RadioTimes.com reported in September 2018, Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc will pair up for their first-ever sitcom, playing two best friends who also happen to be inept killers.
