of Eagles Nest Wilderness
sonar ravens navigate
the frozen blue hollow
unseen on the icy currents
sending out depth signals
to no reply; address unknown-
return to sender

the silent winter aspens sleep
with eyes wide open
seeing all, revealing nothing-
every word frozen on their lips
frozen on mine too
still, the ravens call on and on-
