In Super Mario 64 DS, if the player enters Shifting Sand Land as Yoshi, chooses Mario’s cap on the course intro screen so that Yoshi transforms into Mario at the start of the course, and picks up a crate, the game will crash if Klepto the condor touches Yoshi/Mario (note the footage freezing at that point; in addition, a high-pitched sound is emitted from the console until it is forcibly turned off).

As this sequence of actions is relatively easy to perform organically during regular gameplay, Nintendo patched out this glitch on all subsequent printings of the cartridge, but it can still be encountered on the first print run.

In Super Mario 64 DS, the internal name for the texture of one of the star decorations used inside the Tall, Tall Mountain secret slide is misspelled, with the image being called “ster” instead of “star”.
