Hey, lets start supporting gif packs over gif hunts.
Not that gif hunts aren’t a good resource when they are done right, but gif packs are made specifically for roleplaying, by your community, for you all.
There’s way too many gif packs that only get 10 notes, when I know that hurts as a gif maker to see. We spend hours on these packs, sometimes even days. It took me a week to make 304 gifs for my latest pack. A gif hunt can take a lot of time, but the difference is that the effort it takes gathering gifs already made vs actually making them is incomparable. We make them all from scratch, and sometimes our gif packs double the amount you find in your gif hunts, that gather gifs that were made from several different people over different periods of time, while ours were probably made between a few hours to a few days (yes I know some of them were made over months, but stay with me). It’s not fair to see a gif hunt garner 100+ notes (since you’re kind of profiting off someone else’s work) when a gif pack gets 10-20 notes.
I’m not saying stop making gif hunts — I’m saying lets make a conscious effort to support the gif makers of this community who already feel extremely under appreciated due to things like theft, haranguing about making gifs when your requests are closed, lack of notes, etc.
I don’t care if the quality of the gif pack is to be desired. I don’t care if there’s only 5 gifs. I don’t care if it’s a faceclaim with no other resources or someone you’d never use. PLEASE SUPPORT GIF PACKS!
