#tales of berseria spoilers
I only just skimmed the prologue, but I like the way it’s starting out already. The prologue sets the rest of the novel up as a retelling by Maotelus to Sorey, meaning this is set after Zestiria, when Sorey is in his deep sleep to purify Maotelus. Also, their conversation is adorkable, because of course it is. Losers.
Judging by the way the book’s labeled there’s only going to be two volumes… this one stops when Velvet first confronts Artorius in the temple near Loegres. Also, this book’s way easier to read than the book I’m currently working on damn you Capcom so once I’m done the other book it shouldn’t be too hard to translate this one. I wonder if anything new will come out of this book…

From the very moment he and Muse were tossed into the Aqueduct together, he expected trials. He expected hardship. He expected and accepted all of it, and took up the Shepherd’s vow so Muse didn’t have to suffer the burden. He took it up so he could cut through the suffering of a world breaking under its strain. It was something that he knew from the start, from the moment he laid his hands over Lailah’s on the holy sword and yanked it from the pedestal.
All things considered, though, Michael couldn’t really have predicted things to go exactly like this.
Zesteria didn’t give Eizen the angst sendoff he deserves, so it’s up to me!
