*The door is open… dark, sandstone halls are inside.

Who is brave enough to enter?*

I gave them one of the bodies in return for them leaving me alone. What is so hard to understand.

*He looks at Tan, for a moment, focusing intently on ete*

And can they say the same about you, child?

______________________________________

I respect Kishar? Everyone here in osha respects them at least a little I think. Why do you even have so many bodies here? You don’t need this many if you need any at all.

And I respect Tan. It may not have as much experience as you, I, or Kishar, but it is still a person worthy of respect. Like Kishar. Respect goes a long way. And I do not respect you. I don’t expect you to really be affected by this lack of respect though. I do not wish to fight you. But if I need to, I am willing to attempt.

I welcome you to try, little flame. I welcome you to try.

*He chuckles, practically ignoring Tan’s question*

I would reccomend you leave - check on the body Utur has if you care to. Or see if you are verygood at multitasking.

…Fine. I’ll go. Tan, do you want to come along?

No. I’m staying here. He still hasn’t answered my question.

Fair enough, I’ll be back later, so try to not get hurt.

I’ll try.

Thank you.

[And with that, The Keeper leaves in a flash of black flames leaving Tanzanite here, alone. Tan is somewhat afraid, but refuses to show it. This man is not as terrifying as Someone it’s seen. Ete still refuses to let go of Kishar’s hand. Ete wants to provide some form of comfort to them.]

Why do you need this many bodies? I’m not leaving until you answer me.

Because I have a lot to do, and no more apprentices to do it with. I need the hands if I am to get this place up and running again. Does that answer your question?

*He looks bored, as if Tan is a particually dull piece of paperwork he has to fill in*

Are you going to ask more innane questions or will you leave me be?

God you’re reminding me of my old fucking boss right now. Literally making clones because nobody wanted to join.

[Tan. Tan why are you climbing the Kishar body you were following.]

Not leavin though. Don’t want to.

… Why do you not want to leave? This is not exactly a pleasant place

*The Janitor does not respond to being climbed. They just accept it, and probably would even if they could move*

…I just don’t want to right now.

[Tan is incredibly lost and has no idea how to escape the labyrinth. Whoops. Tan does pet the top of Kishar’s head, again trying to provide some comfort to them.]

[The Keeper walks in without much thought, quite curious about what lies beyond. Tan follows behind, curious as well but not wanting to go alone due to the nature of osha itself.]

*The halls are identical, lit by torches in brackets on the walls. If you look closely, tiny runes are inscribed across every wall… but what they might mean has been lost to time*

Quite interesting… Not often I see things like this. What about you?

I am literally 7 months old.

I forget that sometimes. Let’s go on then.

Aight.

[The duo continue into the labyrinth. Tan idly running ete’s hand along the wall.]

*There seems to be a doorway further up… looks like it opens up to a decently large hall.

There are glowing figures inside it. Most seem to be human… is that the same human twice?*

[The Keeper eagerly walks into the hall, very interested. Tan follows behind, nervous.]

Ohthis should be interesting.

*The hallway seems to be a cafeteria of sorts - clearly old, but definitely a place for meant for eating. There’s a lot of copies of the same people over and over again… but two people seem to always be together. A small, faceless child, and a human with long hair over half of their face. They seem… close. *

[Tan walks up to the figures, The Keeper standing back, but watching]

Excuse me uh. Are you all okay?

*The figures don’t respond, not even noticing Tan’s approach. The human tells the child something in a language Tan doesn’t know, and the child laughs, happily. The human is clearly telling a story now, waving their hands… their hand goes through Tan’s chest, leaving a cold, strange feeling in it’s wake *

[Tan shivers and steps back, clearly getting that they won’t respond.]

The hell is this…?

[The keeper walks around the room, watching, and looking for another door.]

I think it’s some form of memory. If not that then some other kind of illusion.

*Seems like it… the group of people are all the same two people, mostly. So many memories of the human and child… how bizarre… why them…?*

I believe we should move on, nobody can talk with us.

[Tan nods and the two look for a door]

*The doors are clear and obvious, as they should be in a cafeteria. However, in the hallway through one door, a dark figure can be seen walking… was that the Janitor?*

Oh shit- Janitor? Come on, let’s go.

[Tan heads towards the possible Janitor]

Ah- Tan- Alright.

[The Keeper follows shortly after]

*In the hallway, walking slightly further ahead, is a figure. They might be the janitor, but they have short, straight hair, as opposed to the janitor’s long fluffy hair. They’re wearing a skirt of some kind, and no shirt, with a band tied around their head. Their outfit looks… old*

Oh uh. Janitor? Is that you?

[Tan walks closer, followed by The Keeper’s watchful eye.]

*They don’t respond, continuing to walk. There’s something odd about how they’re moving though… something strangely mechanical. That isn’t how they usually act. Not At All*

[Tan tries to grab Janitor’s hand.]

Janitor? Are you okay?

[The Keeper looks to the Janitor]

Kishar.

*Kishar doesn’t pull away, but nor do they stop walking. It’s like they can’t respond for some reason… as if something is controlling them*

[The Keeper sighs]

Let’s just follow them. See where they go.

…Alright.

[The two follow Kishar, but tan doesn’t let go. Ete is worried about them.]

*They keep walking, slowly, until they reach a door that looks… rather unlike the others. It’s fancier, for a start, and seems… colder, somehow. They walk in, still silent.

Inside the room is cavernous, one side hidden in shadow… many of janitor’s bodies are standing around the perimeter… and there’s something in the shadows on the other side of the room. Something big*

…What the hell is this?

Nothing good. Stay alert, Tanzanite.

[Tan nods, refusing to let go of Janitor’s hand]

Show yourself.

Well, if you insist.

*The pyres light, and the gigantic form of Alam is revealed. He smiles, sharply, looking down on them with all of his eyes, firelight glinting off his scales.

And damn, he’s tall.*

I do not believe I have ever seen individuals like yourself before.

We’ve spoken before, Scum. I am The Keeper.

I- came along because I was curious. I’m Tanzanite.

Now, will you be kind enough to tell us your name? While degrading insults are nice, they aren’t nearly professional enough.

[Tan is trying to not look afraid. The Keeper looks intrigued, yet annoyed.]

I suppose it can’t hurt at this point. I am Alam. And you two are quiteinteresting.

*… the way he says that is very concerning*

Do not toy with me. I care not for you, Alam.

[The Keeper stares, with a cold rage and disgust at Alam.]

Can you let Kishar go? At least one of their bodies? I doubt they’re happy like this.

If you must know, I let Utur take one of their bodies. That should be enough, yes?

*He looks bored, as if their interest is wearing off for him*

And I am certain I have made my opinion on their happiness quite clear. It means about as much to me as it seems to mean to The Keeper there. Tell me again how you would rather kill them than let me do as I please?

…What do you mean by “take?”

…The keeper likes them kind of. They respect them at least. Don’t think I can say the same about you.

*The door is open… dark, sandstone halls are inside.

Who is brave enough to enter?*

(( Single Adventurer Starter ))
