Things I’ve realized since I moved:
1. You are the hero of your own story.
2. You don’t get to do anything over from your past, but you can create a future for yourself.
3. Toxic people exist and they will bring you down farther than themselves to make themselves feel better.
4. Self medicating with alcohol and prescription pills will make everything worse, not better.
5. Sometimes love just isn’t enough.
6. I am going to be just fine.

Your brother and you were nothing alike. You were a straight A student, focused on your schoolwork and didn’t go out much, while he flunked most of his classes and came home drunk every single weekend. That being said, he was smarter than he looked. You were terrified about coming out to him, but he knew just what you wanted. One night you heard him stumble through the front door, practically collapsing on the stairs. You knew your parents were pretty much fed up with his behaviour and wouldn’t put up with it for much longer, so you quickly rushed out of your room and helped him up. He drunkenly pushed you aside and started to take his clothes off as he dragged himself up the steps, slurring incoherently. You found yourself staring as he took his shirt off and you froze as he started to slide the jeans down towards his ankles. Drunk as he was, though, he caught you staring and gave you the most twisted grin you’d ever seen….he didn’t have to say anything. Judging by the bulge in his pants, he hadn’t gotten any that night, and he could see right through you and the cockwhore inside you.
