Concerning Chapter 70 and Teru…

Teru Minamoto is a character that I’m honestly scared of. Yes, he has perfect grades. Yes, he has kindness which has practically captured everyone’s heart. Yes, he is an exorcist who hates supernaturals as any exorcist should.

Which makes him so sus.

I feel the phrase “too perfect to be true” applies to Teru too well. The way he acts in a mixture of kindness and controlled bluntness makes me wonder what he’s planning, if planning anything at all. Everything seems so convenient when it comes to Teru’s situations. Like finding Akane’s glasses, or knowing how to find the two of them at the far shore. His knowledge is kinda scary, and I feel unnerved whenever he’s present. Back to the far shore point-

Now, I’m going off of Rope of Fate’s translations, but Teru’s comment about how the living shouldn’t linger makes me suspicious. He knows the effects of the far shore which may have come from independent study, but I doubt that. He also knows Aoi was meant to be a sacrificial maiden, and is most likely aware Aoi has been in No.6’s territory for awhile.

Overall, Teru knows a lot about No.6. Honestly, I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. One thing That I do know is that Teru knew Aoi wouldn’t make it back.

If Teru knew that Aoi would not be able to make it back, he wouldn’t want Akane to be immediately devasted. Maybe if Akane looked back, he would see Aoi disappearing or unable to pass through with them. Aoi had spent so much time with No.6

I believe Aoi also realizes herself that she cannot go back when they reach the tunnel to bring them back…

Since she cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel, it could signify she doesn’t have anything left at her own tunnel, or her life. Walking through would end it. Perhaps she doesn’t realize this specifically, but comes up with something siilar because Aoi is smart.

Lastly, I’d like to bring up Teru’s reference to the future.

Teru has a plan to do somethingabout the supernaturals. Specifically, Hanako. I’m not sure who exactly the “we” references, but my guess is anyone living, plus Akane as the Clock Keeper. I’d hate/love to see him become the antagonist who ends up destroying Hanako in some way (emotionally or physically) to maintain the school mysteries.

In conclusion: nerf Teru

bad news everyone.

pov you’re a 17 year old exorcist with tons of childhood trauma getting to try crane games for the first time

Okay, this fandom kinda upsets me sometimes, but I’m not the type to take pain from opinions of others. Since I have no one to talk to about it, here I am with “How I think Teru Minamoto is one of the most misunderstood characters from all manga”.

First of all, let’s take a look into his backstory. Teru was raised since a young age to carry the responsability of being the next great exorcist in the Minamoto line or something. He had his childhood STOLEN. Do you know how much this can affect someone’s life? People can’t really express their emotions, so they are either villanized, misunderstood or considered too childish: which the three are what is said about him. Not only that, the Minamoto siblings lost their mother. That woman was portraid as someone pure, and I know it hurts them so much to think about her. Specially Teru. It’s common for kids to depend on their mothers when they go through so much. They are usually the only ones who make them feel protected. They lost her, he lost her.

Talking about his father, oh that man. The big boy is clearly shaken by having his dad being mentioned in that conversation. You can’t tell me that man didn’t abuse the f out of him because of training and stuff. He must have put so much weight on the child’s back. Might be because of trauma or just by being a terrible person, it’s still made his mental health worse. Seeing what he’s been through and having NO ONE to even vent about it must have hurt him entirely. I say that by experience. Being silent for so long hurts, it’s suffocating.

And even so, all he wanted was the people he loved to simply live. Have a happy life. LIVE. He wanted to protect his family from going through all of that, because he somehow thought he was the only one who deserved to suffer. Or even not, probably just doing that for the safety of others. But let’s be honest, everyone has a bit of egoism inside of them, for survival purposes. Anyways, as Kou said, Teru didn’t even talk about his feelings. He just kept his silence and never made them suffer. He would die and kill for his siblings, and it is the canon truth. I trully think he will die later on, and it really hurts to say that.

Can’t any of you just see how much he’s been through? It’s his job to protect humans and honestly he’s just trying to do the right thing. Thinking logically, he’s the right one in this whole story. The characters are acting by heart and feelings, and although he “only wanted to protect Aoi” (which I don’t think it’s the case, there is more to that I know it), he is still right. I do love Hanako’s character, but you can’t say he’s doing the right thing. Okay, he’s a child, but it’s just too unfair to make someone happy by taking someone else’s happiness away without them doing nothing. Teru may not know about Hanako’s suffering, but it’s just unfair to say he’s wrong and portray him as a WHOLE villain. Yes, Teru’s methods aren’t the best, but it’s what his was taught to do.

About the way he treated both Nene and Kou, let’s talk about the girl first. She would really have something wrong with her, even if it wasn’t her fault. Nene was stealing someone’s life (Hanako did but she would suffer the consequences). She would really become Teru’s target, and it’s not because he hates her. Even logically speaking, it was a destiny change and plus, an unfair one. Again, would be his job to make the right thing and put all into place. He actually likes Yashiro and would never hurt a human over nothing. HE HAS REASONS!!!! About Kou, that thing gets me really hard. Yes, he loves Kou with his whole heart, we can see that by the way he is sacrificing himself for his brother. But, what he said is true. It’s hard to let it in, I know, but listen. He’s been protecting Kou and Tiara his whole life, for his brother to simply ruin his plans and put himself in the danger he fought so much to not get him. He’s frustrated for not being able to fully save Kou from the supernatural world. When he call Kou weak, is basically saying how he hasn’t gone through all he did, having to let logic and work comes before his health and feelings. How he didn’t have enough time to rest and still had to be perfect in the eyes of others. He was frustrated by how Kou has gone through “less the him” and still was able to suffer from it, when Teru wasn’t. He wasn’t allowed to suffer like Kou. Deep down, Teru do envy Kou, for not having himself as his big brother. For not having someone to love and protect him no matter what. Teru has no one who can fully get to his soul. Honestly, he is beyond saving. Hanako is a threat to him, but have you thought why? All he’s dne affected Teru, so of course h has a bad image of the 50 years old toilet child.

PLUS THE WAY KOU POINTS OUT HOW WEIRD TERU ACTS WHEN TALKING ABOUT SUPERNATURALS? ISN’T THAT STRANGE ENOUGH AUHGRUHGHG.

Please this “because you’re weak” is not something to make Kou feel bad, Teru means that his bro is too good to do something so dangerous and heartless. HE DOESN’T WANT HIM TO BECOME ALMOST SOULLESS LIKE HIM!!!!!!!

I’m crying alone in my room, cuz having to listen to the person you love the most talk about how you ruined something would break me to pieces. I told my sister today and showed her the chapter, so we never argue like that. Yes, after all of that, is it clear that I kin him? Yeah? Okay. lil sis is my Kou, and I’d die for her. Hope some day she can understand this. ANYWAYS Teru is the big brother I never had because I am him. That’s the whole point of the “big brother syndrome” plot y’all please stop villanizing him that much. Thanks for listening if someone actually did.

Even after what he did, I was confused why people insisted on hating Teru— I mean, he’s just doing his job as an exorcist! As a very logical-oriented person, no matter how tame of an apparition you are, I’d still be compelled to exorcise you. Who says you might harm someone in the near future?

As the eldest daughter of my family, I look out for my siblings. Sure, not as caring as Teru, (because they’re little ) but because it’s an insitict. We just want the best for our little siblings.

OMG—!!!?! I JUST REALIZED Ayato Kamisato (Genshin Impact) reminds me SO DAMN MUCH OF TERU MINAMOTO (Toilet Bound Hanako-kun)
