Truly. The submissions and help I’ve received on “Text Me DS9!” have been keeping this lil’ blog afloat. I’m going to try and pull my weight now that the ol’ eyeballs feel a bit better, but I’m still unable to produce much output. Eye power is a shrinking commodity here the wifi on Cardassia is horrid. It’s hot too. Very hot. Running your laptop in 104º weather in the direct sunlight? Not good. My battery is deeply disappointed in me.

Ask Box:

Some of you who submit don’t have the ask box enabled on your tumblr account. This means I can only respond to messages sent to me, and cannot thank you personally or ask you to resend a text. : ( 

The Curse of the Missing Submissions:

Now… alright, I’m more than a bit embarrassed about this… I seem to have lost a number of submissions. I’ll blame the voles, but there’s also a bug in Tumblr. I cannot begin to tell you all how many times the queue has boggled everything up.

I’m really, really sorry about that. I’m going to search my computer to see if I’ve saved copies. 

A Plea & Freebie for Submitters:

I’m visually impaired, so sometimes I just can’t read the text on the submissions I get. There’s just not enough contrast. Skitch is a quirky photo app that runs on Mac, Windows and Android (I’m trying to find something universal). It’s insanely simple for newbies and totally free. The Windows version is still in it’s infancy, so if anyone would like to suggest a free Windows equivalent…   

It’s Text/Font feature has outline and shadow effects that will help make text clear:

Also remember that photos will be presented in Tumblr’s 500p width. I usually resize the width of my images to 600p before I add text. That way I know what people will be viewing.
