Art galleries are quiet on Mondays. There are almost no visitors during the day—patrons’ footsteps echoing off the floors in the connecting rooms, their strides becoming slower, more hesitant. Visiting art galleries during the day is like walking into a church in the dead of night—there’s a kind of reverence to the visitors’ movements as they tread more lightly than usual, a wonder at being allowed to enter such a space with no one else to bear witness. The space is slightly imposing, the structure and its contents grander than the people who enter it.
Hyunjin is no stranger to this feeling, and he loves it.
