Happy one year anniversary to the most chaotic thing this fandom has ever done
On this day one year ago (April 16th), @buggachat made a seemingly harmless shitpost about Adrien accidentally coming across adrichat fanfic. The post was made around 8 pm, and it was soon followed by the entire ml fandom making Adrichat memes and shitposts. This was during the season 3 to season 4 hiatus, and personally it was my first day back on tumblr after a few months of absence.
The fandom stays up into the late hours of the night (meming) posting about adrichat. I gained 4,000 notes and a few followers from an adrichat meme I made that ended up marking my return to tumblr. Miraculous ladybug hits #1 on trending that night. ADRICHAT WAS #2 ON TUMBLR’S OFFICIAL TOP 20 SHIPS OF THE WEEK LIST
And thus, just like that, miraculous became an even bigger joke in the tumblr community, we lost our sanity for good, @chatalyst made arguably one of the funniest videos I have ever seen, and while the season 1 to 2 hiatus was marked by a hundred iconic AUs and the season 2 to 3 hiatus was marked by pinkdrien, pizzabug and cola cat, and brown eyed marinette, the season 3 to 4 hiatus remains, in my opinion, marked by adrichat causing miraculous to trend on tumblr
